Thailand Fantastic

Thailand is an odd mix of contrasts. It can be extremely stressful while trying to get around in Bangkok and gloriously relaxing while laying on practically any of the beaches that populate the coast of the country. Thailand supported the American efforts in the area! Thai-Experience.org volunteers travel to teach in Thailand. They are involved in many different tasks.

Thailand is the land of golden temples, tropical beaches and forested hills. For sightseeing and travel, Thailand has few equals. Thailand is Southeast Asia's most diverse destination, popular with both local and overseas visitors - and with the spectacular resorts and restaurants to show for it. The delicate balance of preserving an ancient heritage with a contemporary infrastructure built to draw visitors is reason enough to see these lands before they become too modernized.

Thailand and Bangkok have it all, beautiful beaches, temples, a great climate, awesome nightlife, cheap shopping, nice hotels and most important amazingly friendly people. A little help might be needed since Bangkok can be quite overwhelming when visiting the first time.

Thailand has plentiful and variety of tourism resources including natural scenic sites such as beaches, mountains, forests, dive sites, waterfalls,etc. The sceneries of all these sites certainly can be considered as many of the most exquisite tourism spots in the world.

Phuket, a top beach resort offers the best beaches in South East Asia. Go snorkeling in the blue waters of Phuket. Phuket is one of Thailand's most developed beach resorts. That means there's a wide range of accommodations in all price categories, as well as a few more distractions once you leave the beach.

But for history, atmosphere and sheer exhilaration, nothing beats the city's canals (or khlongs) that still remain. Some offer rare snapshots of the old Venice of the East, longtail boats making their way down tree-lined canals, locals living next to them in wooden houses, and city life long before the advent of tuk-tuks, traffic jams and the Skytrain. But do you see that sauce next to the chicken? It tasted exactly like Bazooka bubble gum, swear to god. Buddhist temples, historical museums, towering buildings, contemporary restaurants and hotels, shopping centers, canals and rivers, and food make Bangkok a one of a kind city in Southeast Asia.

But a visit to the palace cannot compare with simply walking the streets of Bankok. Stopping at a salon in the trendy student area around Siam Square is a cultural experience -- why sit for a shampoo when you can lay down, your head dangling over the edge of the table and into the sink. But accommodation ; visas, combined with travelling around between towns/cities, and food/drink, souvenirs etc may push things up a little. But probably most importantly, the skills handed down over generations and the relaxed and free minds of Thai people combine to make Thai handicrafts one of the world's best.

Buddhism came to Thailand from India in the second or third century BC and has become the predominant religion but there is also a strong Muslim community in Thailand. Thais are very proud of their King. Also don't forgert to consider scuba diving in Thailand... a great place to go underwater!
